our vision for the community.

high quality CPFRC core services, (2) collaborating with and referring
clients to services outside CPFRC’s core services and (3)
providing fiscal services to community initiatives that strategically
further our vision.
Brief Summary of Organization’s
History
In 1992, a group of dedicated
community leaders established the Community Coalition for Families
and Children (currently doing business as The Community Partnership
Family Resource Center [CPFRC]) as an organization dedicated to
providing needed programs for families and children; strong leadership,
and collaboration among similar agencies; and information sharing
opportunities within our county.
The introduction of gambling October
1, 1991 brought rapid growth to South Teller County. Since
then, the population of Teller County has increased 60%. According
to statistics published in the Colorado Prevention Related Indicators
Report, Teller County was the third fastest growing county in Colorado. Unfortunately,
this growth also brought some negative impacts such as greater
demands on social services, a low paid, transient population and
a heightened crime rate. CPFRC has taken a leading role in
recognizing the challenges brought on by rapid growth and has been
instrumental in establishing and supporting human services not
being met or addressed by a stressed County government and overburdened
school districts. CPFRC works closely with local agencies
such as Build A Generation to help “fill gaps” identified
in our community. CPFRC partners with several other agencies
to either provide needed programs when we can or support the efforts
of others to provide unduplicated programs.
Beliefs and Principles
Core Beliefs: Strong
families make strong communities. High quality educational and
basic human services that meet our communities’ pressing
needs can build stronger families and either prevent or lower the
likelihood that families will slip into crisis. We can best achieve
our vision and mission by leveraging our resources through collaboration,
avoiding duplication and maximizing our efficiency through the
effective management of our programs.
Guiding Principles: We
practice non discrimination in our human resources practices and
in our service to clients. Our focus is on empowering (1)
individuals and families to practice effective parenting, (2) children
and youth to grow in healthy and productive ways, and (3) people
to become more self-reliant and stronger contributors to their
communities. We seek to build toward the future in a nonjudgmental
and caring manner.
2007 Strategic Objectives:
I. Provide outstanding
vision driven core services consistent with our mission.
II. Build organizational
sustainability.
III. Structure Board for
Effective Governance.
